About Oregon

Stories have always been a refuge for Oregon J. Sinclair. As a child, he was the student who got in trouble for reading under his desk instead of paying attention and for staying up past bedtime to finish just one more chapter. Writing came naturally, but for years, it felt more like a dream than a career.

Now, as a full-time elementary school teacher and emerging author, Oregon is determined to create the kind of stories he needed growing up—ones that center Black, queer, and neurodivergent voices. Living with bipolar disorder has shaped the way he views the world, deepening his understanding of identity, resilience, and the power of found family.

Oregon is currently working on several projects. Whether writing fiction, speculative worlds, or something in between, he is passionate about crafting narratives that challenge, uplift, and reflect the complexity of marginalized lives.

When he’s not writing or teaching, you can find him getting lost in a new book, overanalyzing TV shows, or daydreaming about the next story waiting to be told.
